It is anticipated that funding sources may come from many sources:
Investors/Residents - The LC may be funded through the purchase of equity shares of the LC by its members and by payment of rents and/or monthly fees. The LC's assets may be held in trust and disposed of according to an agreement between the LC and its investors/residents.
Local Government Funds - The LC will pursue available local funds from the city and county in which it resides. The LC will pursue grants for social services and development assistance on behalf of members and shareholders. The LC Board shall have the authority as a non-profit corporation chartered by the State of Texas to apply for and accept such funding
Federal and Philanthropic Funds - Federal grants and loans will be pursued on behalf of members and shareholders. The LC will pursue grants for social services, innovative living and health and community development programs on behalf of the members and shareholders. The LC Board shall have the authority to apply for and accept such funding as described above.
Donated Funds and In-Kind Donations - The LC will pursue donated funds and in-kind donations on an ongoing basis for the benefits of members and shareholders. The LC recognizes that these donations decrease operating expenses and increase operating income of the organization, thus supporting the mission and operational goals of the LC.
Federal and Philanthropic Funds - The LC will pursue grants for social services, innovative living and health and community development programs on behalf of the members and shareholders. The LC Board shall have the authority to apply for and accept such funding as described above. As of September, 2007, the Internal Revenue Service granted Lambda 501(C)3 non-profit status.
Fee Income - A monthly fee may be imposed upon each residential unit based on criteria discussed by general membership and established by the LC Board. The fee will be used to support the operations and programs of the LC and for such other purposes as prescribed by the LC Board.
It is recognized that the specifics of resource growth and development depend upon many factors yet to be articulated. Under no circumstances will any financial arrangements or agreements be made that would violate the conditions of either our Texas or Federal non-profit status.
