A variety of personal housing is planned for Lambda Retirement Community, Inc. (LRC). Traditional single and double bedroom private living units will be provided. These townhouse-like units will have comfortable bedrooms with walk-in closets. Units will have one or two bathrooms, a comfortable living room with a kitchenette for minimal cooking and a nook or small room to serve as an office or computer room. Adequate storage closets and spaces are considered essential. The relatively small size of these units is offset by public facilities with public rooms for communal dining, living, health facilities, hobbies and entertainment.
Both single men and couples are encouraged to join the LRC, Inc.. Established but younger men may want to join the community before retirement and view acquisition of a living unit as an investment for the future. Ownership of these private living units is similar to ownership in a condo, where the living space is privately owned and a fee is paid to the Home Owners Association for maintenance of common facilities and services.
In addition there may be “pods” that are rented living units with four to six individual bedrooms for individuals who share toilets, a kitchenette and similar common spaces. One or more of these LRC owned units might be used to provide staff housing as barter to lower staff costs. It is anticipated that external development funds might be sought for these capitol investment concepts and innovative ways to reduce staff costs.
All living units will be constructed to be as “green” as possible. Again, it is anticipated that R&D might occur. Also, in both living units and in public spaces guidelines for safe handicapped living will be followed. Further, all living units will be wired for optimum telecommunications such as for broadcast and closed-circuit TV, WiFi, Security and phone services. |
