Concepts that drive the organization include:

 

To explore the concept of a Hybrid Community wherein some members wil participate on-line and some members will be residents of a physical facility.

To explore and live within a green environment: to honor and respect the environment and to use natural and renewable resources whenever feasible; and, to consider new and experimental ways of being "green" with a view toward R&D, where feasible.

To create conditions for optimum physical and mental health within a supportive environment using both traditional and non-traditional medicine and health providers; to use creative methods to provide insurance and direct health care through group purchase methods.

To provide a friendly, supportive and enjoyable retirement environment wherein the quiet demonstration of caring, affection and love is possible.

Governance of the LC will be through representational means such as a Board of Directors or Membership Council. Organizational and operating decisions will represent the will of the community members.

Ownership of the facility will involve creative means for members to maintain their assets while still providing development and operation capitol. Foundation and other external sources of funding will be obtained where possible. At least part of the LC shall involve formal non-profit status.
